Five Island Nonprofit Organizations Selected for Hawai‘i Energy’s EmPOWER Hawai‘i Project
New program provides incentives on energy saving measures to nonprofitsHONOLULU — Hawai‘i Energy announced today the five island nonprofit organizations selected to participate in their inaugural EmPOWER Hawai‘i Project. The EmPOWER Hawai‘i Project aims to provide specialized financial support, energy data analysis, and educational outreach to worthy organizations, navigating them through the processes needed to become more energy efficient and help them save money.
The participating organizations are as follows:
- The Hawai‘i Children’s Discovery Center
- Lunalilo Home
- Waikīkī Health Center
- Waimānalo Health Center
- YWCA O‘ahu
“This is an exciting time for Hawai‘i Energy as we now have a program that takes a holistic approach to helping nonprofit organizations be more energy efficient,” said Shayna Doi, Marketing & Communications Manager for Hawai‘i Energy and member of the EmPOWER Hawai‘i Project design team. “As nonprofits often face unique challenges to implementing energy-saving measures, we are thrilled that they can now receive both technical help and extra guidance on empowering their employees, clients and customers make smart energy choices.”
Over the course of the next eight months, Hawai‘i Energy staff will be working closely with these five organizations to provide support, direction and education, with the goal that they’ll take the knowledge they’ve obtained to continue to improve their efficiency for years to come.
